The Role 

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Gasfitter A plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and service of propane systems. This position is essential to delivering the high standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction that Avenir Energy is known for. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Installation and Maintenance: Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs for propane tanks, appliances, and vaporizers in both residential and commercial settings. 

  • Propane Hook-Ups: Complete safe and accurate propane hook-ups for a variety of systems. 

  • Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative duties including ordering parts, completing work orders, invoicing, and assisting with shop-related activities. 

  • Other Duties: Support other operational and service tasks as required to meet team and customer needs. 

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Certification: Gasfitter A certification required. A liquid propane endorsement is an asset, or a willingness to attain certification. 

  • Equipment Knowledge: Crane ticket and experience operating a boom truck are assets. 

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of CSA B149 Gas Codes and their application. 

  • Licensing: Minimum Class 5 driver’s license required. 

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong technical and mechanical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. 

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Willingness to Learn: Openness to ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
