Position Summary:
As the Regional Manager for the Greater Ottawa Area, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and growth of your territory. Your primary focus will be on expanding the business, with approximately 50% of your time dedicated to driving growth initiatives. The remaining time will be spent managing safety, improving operational efficiency, developing your team, and ensuring overall business success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safe and Reliable Operations:
- Act as a safety leader within your territory, ensuring all branches adhere to the highest safety standards.
- Ensure that drivers follow safety protocols, and provide training where needed.
- Regularly conduct site inspections and workplace observations to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Stay informed about all safety and regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
2. Operational Efficiency:
- Oversee the territory’s budget, driving efficiencies across all areas of the business.
- Maintain open and effective communication with internal stakeholders and teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Strive to exceed key performance metrics and continually improve branch performance.
- Ensure all sites meet Avenir Energy’s operational and maintenance standards.
3. Customer Service and Business Growth:
- Focus on customer satisfaction, retention, and growth by maintaining strong relationships with key customers.
- Manage customer profitability within the territory, seeking out new business opportunities while maintaining a strong sales presence.
- Collaborate with the sales team to grow the business while maintaining operational excellence.
- Address and resolve any customer issues that arise, ensuring a seamless experience for all clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education/Experience: University degree and/or 5+ years of progressive experience in operations management, business accounting, marketing, or sales. Industry knowledge in fuel distribution is an asset.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams while fostering a positive work environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external customers.
- Problem-Solving: Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to handle conflicts and resolve issues quickly.
- Interpersonal Skills: A friendly and approachable demeanor, combined with a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
