Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the analysis, design, and delivery of business and technology solutions across Avenir Energy’s core functions, including Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance. This role focuses on translating business needs into clear requirements, supporting system improvements, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, operational environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements and business cases using clear, structured documentation
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for development and implementation
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to evaluate solution options and support decision-making
  • Support initiatives throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including testing, implementation, and post-go-live support
  • Prioritize incoming business requests and coordinate required resources to support timely delivery
  • Assist with investigation and resolution of escalated system or process issues
  • Provide project estimates, timelines, and analysis support for assigned initiatives

Qualifications:
  • 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a comparable role supporting complex systems
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience working with multiple business areas such as operations, supply chain, sales, or finance
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills
  • Experience supporting projects and change initiatives using structured methodologies
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • ITIL Foundation certification or similar is considered an asset
