Position Summary

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Account Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth across Saskatchewan, with a strong focus on new business development. This role requires a proactive, field-based sales professional who can identify opportunities early, build relationships, and deliver tailored energy solutions across multiple industries.

The position is heavily focused on prospecting (approximately 80%), balanced with strategic account management (20%) to retain and grow existing customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales and margin targets across commercial, agricultural, and residential markets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including construction projects, agricultural operations, and industrial applications
  • Proactively engage prospects ahead of project awards by maintaining strong awareness of market activity in Saskatoon, Regina, and surrounding areas
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, including target identification, proposal development, and closing activities
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent follow-up and solution-based selling
  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver timely, accurate, and effective customer solutions
  • Track performance through sales reporting, pipeline management, and margin analysis
  • Maintain knowledge of propane applications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Complete administrative responsibilities including CRM updates, expense reporting, and sales documentation
  • Travel throughout the province, including occasional overnight stays

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience, preferably within construction, agriculture, energy, mining, or oilfield sectors
  • Strong understanding of the Saskatchewan market (particularly Saskatoon and Regina), with the ability to identify upcoming projects and proactively pursue opportunities ahead of project awards
  • Proven success in prospecting, cold calling, and closing new business, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across commercial sectors including construction, agriculture, and industrial applications
  • Working technical knowledge of propane and its applications, with the ability to apply this expertise in solution-based selling
  • Experience managing a diverse portfolio across multiple lines of business, adapting sales strategies to meet varying customer needs (including applications such as crop drying and construction heating)
  • Proficiency with CRM systems to effectively manage sales activities, maintain pipelines, and support ongoing customer relationship management
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans, including identifying target customers, delivering tailored proposals, and consistently closing opportunities
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to handle objections, negotiate effectively, and provide clear, practical solutions
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills, capable of balancing prospecting, account management, and administrative responsibilities
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, service, and support teams to deliver seamless customer solutions from proposal through execution
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
