Position Summary: Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue growth in an assigned territory based in Sudbury, Ontario. This role is focused on acquiring both Commercial and Residential propane clients, with a strong emphasis on new business development. As a Sales Rep, you will leverage your industry expertise and proven sales skills to manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, while maintaining long-term customer relationships. This is a key role in Avenir Energy’s mission to become North America’s leading propane distributor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed sales targets for both Residential propane and HVAC services, ensuring profitability in volume and margin.
- Grow the Commercial Propane segment by dedicating 80% of your time to prospecting for new business opportunities and 20% to managing existing accounts.
- Collaborate closely with internal operations and support teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities using the company’s CRM tool.
- Analyze and monitor sales performance through regular reviews of volume, account numbers, and profit margins.
- Stay informed of provincial propane regulations and comply with all company safety policies.
- Complete administrative tasks, including expense reporting and commission tracking.
- Travel is required, including some overnight stays.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience with a consistent track record of success in meeting and exceeding targets.
- Exceptional communication skills, with bilingual proficiency being an asset.
- Formal sales training, whether through courses or on-the-job experience, is highly preferred.
- Industry-specific knowledge in propane or fuels is an advantage, but not required.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Strong customer service focus, with experience delivering solutions that drive client satisfaction.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
